The Healthiest and Most Satisfying Snacks to Eat
By: Aaron Williams III

Looking for a tasty snack that you can enjoy any time every day?
Tired of worrying about whether or not a certain snack is healthy for you?
Don’t you just want to enjoy it without feeling guilty about the calories, the amount of sugar, or how little protein it has?
If you answered “yes” to any of these, then this blog post is for you.
I know how it feels to struggle with finding the right snack to eat.
Last year in 2021, I got into the idea of eating protein bars. In fact, I ate them almost every week, solely for the protein.
However, I found out about the number of added sweeteners they included.
So, I decided to stop eating them. The price tag didn’t help either.
Once you’re done reading this, you’re going to be surprised when you find out about how many tasty AND healthy snacks are out there, just like I was.
Snack #1) Nuts
Nuts are one of the most common sources of protein and dietary fiber.
These can come in the form of pistachios, cashews, almonds, and peanuts.
Not only do nuts carry essential vitamins and minerals needed for energy, growth, and good health, but they can even help you live longer.
Plus, nuts are usually in a container of some sort, which means that you can take some out and seal it away for later use.
You’re probably thinking, “But don’t nuts have lots of fat?”
Yes, they do. However, the fats inside nuts are healthy because they aren’t heavily processed. These fats also include hydrogen and improve cholesterol.
If you wanted the most versatile option, choose pistachios.
Pistachios are very filling (because of fiber), and compared to cashews and peanuts, they cost less for how much you get.
Snack #2) Fleshy Fruits

Just like nuts, fleshy fruits fill you up quickly. They also help prevent diseases such as cancer and diabetes.
There are some drawbacks to eating fleshy fruits, though.
If you eat too much, it will cause you to gain more weight because of the amount of carbs they carry.
It’s not a big problem, as long as you:
- Stay physically active in some way
- Manage how much you eat at once
Want to know my favorite fruit? Grapes.
Even though they can be expensive (depending on the store you go to), I think grapes are the most satisfying fruit to eat because:
- They’re healthy
- They’re bite-sized
- They’re filled with flavor
I’ve consistently eaten fruits like apples, cucumbers, and bananas, but nothing comes close.
Do what works for you, but I think you would be missing out if you didn’t include grapes in your snacks list.
Snack #3) Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt has low carbs. Also, unlike regular yogurt, Greek yogurt comes with more protein and less sugar.
If that’s not enough, it promotes great digestive health AND provides a bunch of calcium – which is crucial for bone health.
Greek yogurt is definitely a healthy snack, but I must warn you: don’t eat too much of it.
It may seem like the best thing in the world, but unless you buy unsweetened yogurt, you’re stuffing a ton of added sugar into your mouth.
If you’re worried about this, try plain, natural yogurt. Women’s Health recommends some great choices.
Know that it’s probably not going to come with as much flavor, though.
In that case, add fruit to your yogurt to give it some more if you need to.
